This website does not use cookies. Here is exactly what that means, and the one thing it does store.
The short version
BinaryRise sets no cookies on this website — none for analytics, none for advertising, none for sessions, and none belonging to anyone else. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
The only thing this site stores in your browser is which theme you picked, light or dark. It never leaves your device and it is never sent to our server.
What cookies are, and why this page is short
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on every later request. Cookies are what make a site able to recognise a returning visitor, and that is why analytics and advertising products depend on them — and why the law requires your consent before a site sets one for those purposes.
Under the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules, consent is required for storing or reading anything on your device that is not strictly necessary for the service you asked for. That is where cookie banners come from. This site does not do any of it, so there is nothing here to consent to and no banner to click through.
The one thing we store: your theme choice
When you use the light/dark toggle, your choice is saved in your browser under the key br-theme, using localStorage. The value is the single word "light" or "dark".
This is not a cookie. localStorage is never attached to network requests, so the value is never transmitted to our server or to anyone else. It exists so the page does not flash the wrong theme at you on the next visit, which is a preference you explicitly asked for by pressing the toggle.
To remove it, clear site data for this site in your browser settings, or use a private window. The site works normally without it — it falls back to whatever your operating system reports as your preferred colour scheme.
What this site deliberately does not do
No analytics of any kind. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Matomo, nothing counting visits.
No tracking pixels, no advertising tags, no remarketing, no social media trackers, and no profiling.
No third-party JavaScript. Nothing on any page talks to Google, Meta, HubSpot, LinkedIn or anyone else. There are no embedded videos, no external images, no CDN scripts and no chat widgets.
No web fonts loaded from someone else’s server. Our typefaces are served from this site’s own bundle, so opening a page does not tell a font host that you visited us.
No CAPTCHA. The contact form is protected by a hidden field and a submission-timing check, both of which run entirely on our own server and require nothing from a third party.
The contact form is a separate matter
None of the above is about what happens when you deliberately send us a message. If you fill in the contact form, we store what you typed along with technical details of the submission so we can reply to you and keep the form free of spam.
That is personal data rather than a cookie question, and it is covered by the Privacy Policy.
If this ever changes
If BinaryRise later adds analytics or any other technology that stores or reads something on your device, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and any consent mechanism the law requires will be in place at the same time.
We will not add a tag first and document it afterwards. A cookie policy that does not match what the site actually loads is worse than none at all, because it is relied on.
